ok, here is my weekly ( or is it weakly now? ) update from my computerless self.

i went through one of the hardest things i have ever had to do: give consent for life support to be stopped for my father.
my brother had called me thursday morning to tell me my dad , who had been in the hospital just about two weeks for kidney/heart problems, had gotten worse. i saw him wednesday and he was coherent and able to communicate,but, by thursday morning it appeared he had had a stroke while he slept and lost the ability to use is right side and the ability to speak and when he did manage to open one eye there was nothing behind it. this, combined with the news from the doctor that he now had blood clots forming in his lungs and would never be off of a respirator gave his wife ( his second, he remarried after my mother died ), my brother and I little choice. the only thing i wish for now is that he passes quickly for now ,off of life support, he is on a morphine drip to keep him still as his body starts to shut down. dying is a slow painful process.... for everyone involved
