ran into my old grade school principal at the coffee shop today. i have met him a few times over the years since. one time i thanked him for being such a good influnce on me. you see, i got into a lot and i mean a lot of fights in grade school because kids liked to tease me until i snapped. i was bigger and stronger than the other kids and i would be the one winning when the teachers came over to break it up so i was the one sent to see the principal. i explained to him what happened and he understood. i was never punished for defending myself he just told me to get a milk out of the lunchroom cooler and sit in class until recess was over. i think that if i had been repeatedly punished for defending myself i would have a lot more resentment and anger towards society and my life might have taken a more violent course and for that i thank you Mr. Weatherbee.
