I have read The Story of the Eye....Bataille is always a pleasure...Tears of Eros is a meditation on the psychosocial impact of the human knowledge of sex and death...

Another decadent delight is Octave Mirbeau's "The Torture Garden"....once called "the most decadent text of the 19th century"...
pigtails:
My favorite book of all time is The Story of the Eye. I should really read other books by Bataille. Thanks for the recommendation.

I see your favorite book is by Bataille, have you read The Story of the Eye...I love that book. I haven't read The Tears of Eros, I may have to check it out.
