Story of the day................
OK - I think that I am done with being sad for a while!!!!
The memorial service for Shawn was today and I wasn't able to make it
Probably for the best really since I woulda seen all of my friends in Moose Jaw and only got sad again when I had to leave. Guess this whole getting motion/car sick lately has worked to my advantage (if I can look at it that way)
.........but I guess that is a whole other story that I am not ready to share - at least not now
The past few days have been kinda weird around here as people are planning funeral services and stuff. I decided that I will not go to the funeral on Monday. My aunt knew about the Snowbird crash and that I didn't like doing funerals. Oddly enough she said to me that when it was her time to go that she wouldn't want me there just because of this fact. It is still hard to accept that she only told me this on Saturday at her wedding anniversary party
Oh well - I am going by the "Life goes on" theory and trying to focus on the good things coming up in my life
Hopefully this will include finally getting over the border to be with piratepete, moving into our own house, finding a great job, and.........well I better not hope for too much right away
This quote jumped out at me this week - I just find it fitting not only for the memory of Shawn, but how well it works for life in general:
"We should not leave this earth with unfinished business. We should live each day as if it was a pre-flight check. We should ask each morning, am I prepared to lift-off? "
I hope everyone has a safe and happy weekend
