Story of the day..............

I had to go from the pure high of getting engaged to one of the most romantic men I know, to having to come back to the base and dealing with a nasty courts martial
All within a day
After a quick brush into work on Monday to let everyone know that I was alive and very much on cloud nine, I got a call from my lawyer to meet up with him to go over the proceedings for the next day in court
Some of you may know that about a year and a half ago I was involved in an incident with a Captain on my base and the outcome was that he was going to be charged with sexual assult and conduct unbecoming of an officer.......well this week was the courts martial dates and I have been stressed out to the max over the whole thing
In the end he pled guilty and I didn't have to testify. My lawyer was rather concerned though since I was physically ill for the 2 days we were in court. I never once stepped into the court room - I just sat in the witness room with the other 5 witnesses who were there to support me and I was still on edge. Today was sentencing and I didn't even bother going. I don't care how he was dealt with - I am just glad that this nightmare is over
Lesson learned though: If somthing like this was to ever happen again just keep mouth shut
Oh well - one chapter of my life is now closed and another is being written day by day

I am glad that you made it through the court-martial and he accepted responsibilty. That at least lets everyone involved walk away with some honor. And I am glad that it did not chase you from the service. As for your engagement, congradulations, and now I shall have to be jealous of Piratepete. Still can't wait to see your new sets though. Anyway glad you had fun and nice to hear from you again.

I am glad to hear it is over...I think it was much better that you stepped forward and said something rather than keeping mum...For all of us who are too scared to come forward when we are raped or sexually assaulted or harassed, seeing you being so strong about the situation and coming forward really means a lot, you know?
