Story of the day..............
I'M A CORPORAL!!!!!!!

I went into work early on Monday (at my Sargents request) and found myself being promoted as soon as I walked in the door
It was such a good feeling I have to say.....although for the rest of the day I was answering the phone:
"Private.....errr....ummmm - I mean Corpral..."
It still sounds silly to hear Corpral in front of my name but I guess I'll get use to it all in due time
As for the Paramedic work with the local Civis......I HATE it
I came to realize that I am not meant to work on the Civi streets. My emotions get in the way too much. For example -we had a call today involving a 76 year old woman who was almost choked to death by her husband. I had to hold back with all of my strength in order to not kill this guy
What is this world coming too??
Once he saw me, he backed off real quick (only because of my uniform) but once I knew that he was intimidated by me, I stood right outside of his hospital room door and just glared at him from time to time. I know that it wasn't a nice thing to do, but he kept trying to go "see" his wife and I wasn't allowing him within 2 feet of the poor lady
So 2 shifts down and 12 to go
I have to stay up as late as I can tonight because I start the night shift tomorrow night and I HATE sleeping during that shift because I take a little while to wake up and when peoples lives are in my hands I don't wanna be playing around with them
I am also relearning that I carry all of my stress in my shoulders and they are killing me!!
I haven't felt this kind of tense pain since I was in Nursing School! Guess it is time for a hot bath
Anyways - Like I said in my last journal, I will try to pop in from time to time
Take care and I MISS YOU ALL
Kisses

I kind of hear you about your work. I worked at a vet clinic for over a year, and it almost broke my me. There are far too many animals that myself and the other workers really didn't want to send back home with their owners. I almost ended up with another kitten cause this moron kid put it in a can of gas...
I hope that your hot bath was nice, and full of bubbles!
