HOLY HELL IN A HAND BASKET!!!
I have been stuck on an emotional rollercoaster and until this afternoon, I wasn't allowed to get off
This week has issued the emotional beating of a life time to me but I am happy to say now that I have survived
Work has been insane with stupid people, extra work and lots of change 
We have had a few people absent from the hospital for the last little while so guess who got to do all of their work for them?? Thats right
I am SO lucky to be ME 
Anyways - I thought that all of my extra working and such was a waste of my time, but I am not one to argue at work so I would just do the job and go about my business....until this afternoon
After I had handed in the last of my extra work to my Sgt, he asked me to have a seat in his office because he needed to have a "talk" with me. Now - this usually means that you have screwed up in a major way so I was rather terrified when I sat down in front of him
"Here - read this out loud to me" he asked me as he handed me a piece of paper
"Pte Whitewidow (ok - so I changed my last name) has shown outstanding work ethics over the last year and a half she has been employed here at 15 Wing Medical Centre. It is at my request that she be advance promoted by the time of one year to the rank of Corpral. Thank you for your consideration of the career of this well diciplined Private."
Holy Shit!!! I never felt so good about my work as I did today You see - the Canadian Military works a little differently as the United States as far as rank goes. We are never advance promoted to Cpl unless one of these letters is presented to the Commanding officer of our Units (usually it is automatic after 4 years), and I can count on one hand how many people I know who have been advanced on such occasions
YAY!! Now - it isn't guarenteed, but just the fact that they even considered this for me makes me very happy It also means that if I were to get out of the military, when I get back in (if I choose to do so) I would go right back to the rank of CPL
