Okay, so I can see that you need some guidance, and I'm here for ya'. The waiver thing is pretty much a spoken agreement in the MEPS system, so it's not really "denied" it just wasn't ever written. The thing with the AF is that they really want to have a "business" look to their members, which is no piercings/tattoos. I was in, and I had a septum (10g) and my ears were at 6g. Everyone had a problem with them, but nothing I could get in trouble for. The rules (as of 2001 at least, when I got out) are:
No piercings while on the base. (off-base is fine.)
No tattoos below wrist or above collarbones. ( I knew many people with small stars and what not on their hands, I had writing on my neck. And even a star in the middle[check my pics.])
Arm tattoos must not cover more than 3/4 of the area from your short sleeve camo-shirt to your wrist.


That's about it...my little group of friends was heavily tattooed and pierced. We weren't loved for it...but we also couldn't get in trouble because we were smart about it. And we never hung out on base.
