Noam Chomsky has been pretty much my "go-to guy" or "sixth man" if we were talking basketball. Without even going over his sources/points of references I believe most of what he says to be true. I keep thinking of the "thought processes" or "motivations" of the business elite and it really makes sense as far as doctrine goes. Even for a provincial lad like myself, all you really have to do is listen to anyone who owns a small business. That kind of "Joe's Dry-Cleaning" before people mentality is something they all share. Apply that model to a large scale and you can bet the folks at Sony or Dow Chemical are gonna do what it takes to increase profits and solidify their market share. This doctrine or mission statement is superior to what is essential to human life. It's a shame that this way of thinking is continuing to destroy people mentally and physically the world over. Almost every modern crisis can have its roots partially planted in the damage this inequality cause. Racism, Depression, Obesity, Ignorance, Disease, Drug Abuse, Crime. I guess nothing is independent unto itself. People just don't want to hear shit like that. You get called a freak because you don't want to go see the new X-Men movie because you no longer want to be a spectator in your own life. You quit your job selling appliances because something inside tells you that this is wrong. Your family calls you a loser or a child when all you really want to do is live free. Live free and work towards having a job that is not shackling chains on another man. I can only imagine what would happen to me if I dropped it all and spoke out and fought for a cause? Would I end up like those priests in El Salvador? Have my record forever tainted so that I may never have what little is left of meaningful work?
