Legend has it that Trane and his musicians dropped some LSD before recording this. Then when he cleaned up and heard what was recorded, he shelved it. I've never been assaulted in such a spiritual way by sound in my life. It's definetley violent, but in a way that's crying out for God and forgiveness. Maybe Trane and Pharoah Sanders are calling on God for justice in this life. These are some mad times. Hearing a man work his craft like that and bring something sincere makes it all worthwhile.
