The Cure concert was boss. Robert Smith looked unusually healthy. They were also very very loud. That was something I would not expect. I picture the Robert Smith hiding behind an amp crying more than I see him rocking out with his cock out. My only arguement is that they only played for and hour and a half. A group like the Cure should be up there for two hours with at least two encores. Then again, that goth zombie has been doing the mope strut for over 25 years. Hell, he's at least as old as my old man and that motherfucker doesn't do ANYTHING for two hours. Interpol impressed the pants off of me, as well. I used to own their CD and sort-of dismissed them as a Joy Division/Television clone. They do still sound quite similar to those acts but they put on a killer show. Plus they sound BETTER live then they do on disk, which is another notch in the bedpost for these Bad Seed-suited mothers. Mogwai was Mogwai. Not much more to report on there. You are either in a mood for their little mini-operatic Sonic Youthisms or yer not. I was there to drink $8 beers and sing along to some BOYS DON'T CRY and shit. The Rapture made me want to put on my slickest retro 80s gear and do some fucking Jazzercise. In my heart, I really want to hate these guys. Mainly because I hate hip looking people doing hip little things. They sound so AWESOME live and their grooves are so INFECTIOUS. Overall, the CURIOSA festival was way overpriced but very worth it.

Recorded some music last week. For some reason I am completely fixated on the BAR SCENE from Lynch's TWIN PEAKS:FIRE WALK WITH ME. We recorded a track with bass, guitar, drums, and sax that sounds similar to that scene. But the guy on sax simply smokes. I think we've got the upper hand on Angelo Badalementi. Victory is ours!!! I was even playing decently so you know it was a good evening. Hopefully, that session will make it on disk soon. The "classical/jazz" trained guitarist that we play with is a freakazoid. I have no problems being his foil. I have no problems turning off the delay n' such so this cat can freak out.

i don't have a clever picture to include in your journal.

just the information that before all of this shit went down the other day with the ex, i completed a three disc mix compilation for him to take with to burning man next week. at this point, i'm not so sure i want to give it to his shitty ass, but the first disc, titled, "i let love in", includes none other than, "that joke isn't funny anymore".

priceless timing, dear.

'i've seen this happen, in other people's lives, and now it's happening in mine..."
