The beginning part of this week has been a foreign film one. Jetted off to the very cool VIDEO SPECTRUM in Bowling Green, OH. This is the ONLY video store worth a damn in NW Ohio. Hands down. They mean BUSINESS!!!. These fucking turkeys even had THOU SHALT NOT KILL...EXCEPT on VHS. Anyone stocking that piece of work has more than earned my beer money. Christ, it has the rich and famous Sam Raimi running around all Charles Manson-like. Fake ass kung-fu fighting. Shitty dialog. Spun fucking gold.
The hunt was on for two movies...THE NIGHT PORTER and SALO:120 DAYS OF SODOM. I figured those two flicks could inspire some more VILLAIN ROCK. Maybe I'm just one of those creepazoids who are fascinated by fascism. Charlotte Rampling's song & dance routine was great. FLUX INFORMATION SCIENCES jacked their album cover idea straight from that Nazi party scene. The slow pace and acting were refreshing. Not something I'm used to being in an action movie household.
SALO:120 DAYS OF SODOM was a slice of cold filth...plain and simple. The emptiness and brutality of the aristocratic types intrigued me to no end. It would seem the only joy these people get out of life is the misery of their lessers. My imagination is curious to know about this group of fascist leaders and their back story. What made them the monsters I see on screen? There was more poop in this one than I would care to see. How does one develop a taste for poop? Boggles my mind. I recommend this movie for Kurtz because I think its up his alley. VIDEO SPECTRUM has a whole section dedicated for Pasolini. I'm probably going to check out more of his work.

Recorded as a duo with our violist Tuesday night. Sounds like iron ore. She's freakin' wonderful. Definetley the touch of class that us cro-magnons need. I love this woman!!! She cooks the entire time while I start by plugging away at the drums and then move over to Jazzmaster to squelch some. I try to give the people with the real chops more space when I record with them. I take playing the guitar as seriously as I do writing lyrics. It's better for other peoples egos, too. Plus, our practice space was flooded. The sinkhole already smells like dead shark's ass and this flood is just going to sour those already unbearable conditions. I hope we get the rent prorated or something. Raw Taint Discount. Luckily, nothing was damaged. Well, maybe some random pornography that was lying around. For being musicians in their mid-twenties...we keep the room pretty clean. No festering pizza boxes or pyramids of cigarette butts. I was so fucking drunk that I slept in that piss factory all night. I woke up with an amazing headache and hay fever like you wouldn't believe. It helps that the couch is for midgets. My spine really liked that one. Goddamned Seagrams went right to my brain. No matter how long I stay away from booze, I come back as strong as ever. With a decent budget, I could be a respectable alcoholic. All by myself in a haunted old bank, stagnant water in the carpet, bourbon in the veins, Arthur Lee & Love on the P.A., and some Fraggle Rock patio furniture. Down and out in Toledo, Ohio.
