Why are CD Burners such a pain in the ass? This fucking miracle of science is more difficult to use than cassette recorders are. With that in mind, what the fuck is the record industry bitching about? This fucking technology only works about half of the goddamned time and at least half of the MP3 downloads I get are screwed up. Makes you just wanna go out and buy the CD like a good American consumer. If their precious numbers are down, it has to be that there is little good music available on major labels. Fuck em, I can think of a handful of active major labels artists whos CDs I would like to purchase. Most of the killer shit is happening on the undergound. Or when a really kick ass indie band gets signed to a major, they get like one record out and get dropped and/or fucked around. And then their title goes out of print and they can't release it themselves because the major owns the rights to the material. I can't see how bands with an "under the radar" sound sign to majors. They must know that the record company wants them to polish their sound and move more units. Oh well, its just a shame to see that happen to good bands.
I saw some people I haven't seen in like two years last night. They're kids I went to high school with and hung out with them at Bowling Green occasionally. It makes me happy to tip back some Michelobs and talk to those dudes. Plus, they had a shitload of fireworks and lit off a fucking Chinese New Years worth. It was like the 4th of July on the 5th for those who couldn't get enough. We toasted to 200 more years of genocide at the hands of America and Multinational Corporations. Good job so far guys, more success in the future!! One of the guys there was Lebanese, so he knows full well American foreign policy.
Well, on a lighter note I just bought The complete Theoretical Girls on CD. Glenn Branca and Wharton Tiers were in the group. More New York fucking racket from the late 70's/Early 80s. Listening to CD, I kinda see where Clinic stole some of their tunes from the Internal Wrangler album. I mean, there was no direct theft..but you can definetley feel that those boys were up on the TGs. I can't hold that against them, at least they're not one of these upstarts trying to sound like the MC5, Stooges, or New York Dolls. I'm soo tired of all of that nonsense. If I was Ron Asheton I'd be pissed at all of these Stooges clones. They shoulda broke the motherfucking mold.

I was just mentioning Branca to tunnelslats in chat, since I was playing The Warlocks. I didn't like my Branca album in high school and got rid of it, and wish I hadn't now of course, since...I mean, I'm sure in high school something like Post Mortem seemed better than Branca, but now I'm not so sure that was a good trade-off.
I never think Stooges bands truly sound like the Stooges. Seriously, the only time I ever thought "Stooges" while listening to another group was the first Red Aunts album, and that was partially just the approach more than the exact sound....still, I'd take the Red Aunts over those bands you are hinting at...I have no idea if they're even still together.
The Warlocks aren't exactly like Branca. They just have multiple guitarists too. On first listen (I just got this album Rise and Fall in the mail) they seem okay.
...oh crap, why don't I just admit it? I can act cool and listen to Archie Shepp and Cabaret Voltaire and THE ELECTRIC EELS but I have to admit, I do like that damned song.
