"Dusk At Cubist Castle"
Just listening to music and ignoring every thing else lately. Personally, I prefer BLACK FOLIAGE to this album. Total headphone masterpiece. Who needs drugs? the 65,987 sounds going off at once triggers all kinds of cerebral nonsense. Maybe I should pick up the saxophone? I've thought about it for a few months and it seems like a good idea. Problem would arise with the kind of sax work that is inspiring me to play. Pharoah Sanders, Albert Ayler, Peter Brotzmann, Archie Shepp, and the Saint John Coltrane. My dad would surely send me packin' whe gets a whiff of what I got cookin'. Speakin of the Pharoah, I was listening to the KARMA today at work. What's fun for me is the ethereal Lonnie Liston Smith parts in the beginning. People in the store are getting on kind of a New Age/World Music vibe and digging it. Then all hell breaks loose and Pharaoah just punishes that fucking reed. Then all of these happy-go-lucky consumers grab up their little shit monsters and run for greener pasture. I think the District Manager is going to print up an internal memorandum concerning the playing of avant-garde jazz music or modern classical. Fuck all of that. Why come to a music store just to hear the shill they're tilling on the radio? Isn't the point of Mom n' Pop record stores to be pushing boundaries and switching formats?? Oh well, If you wanna put a new coat of paint on the pop stand and turn it into Tower Records....then so be it. I'll take my Archie Shepp records and march merrily into the sunset....Yeah....Kinda like High Plains Drifter.
That sounds like a good idea. Well, It's time to polish off another bottle of Bacardi and read some Bukowski. Yep, Reckon I might be a cliche but life's too short for me to give a shit.
Soundtrack Of The Day
RJD2 "The Horror" EP
gotta give it up to the Ohio talent. Especially when they're talented. This fucking Junior Buckeye is giving DJ Shadow a run for his money.
