I just finished reading this book by Andy Greenwald, Nothing Feels Good: Punk Rock, Teenagers, and Emo, and it was possibly the guiltiest pleasure I've had in some time. The whole second half of the book is kind of lame, and I skipped through a lot of it, but the first half, I guess what with my having grown up listening to a lot of the music there, was a nice trip down nostalgia road. Anyway, if you like music journalism, or if you listening to 24-Hour Revenge Therapy for three years solid between the ages of 16-19, then I reccomend this book. It's kind of like watching a VH1 special. He even mentions SuicideGirls in one sentence. Yes, just one sentence.
Now I'm reading about the decay of dead bodies. And maggots, or rather, Haciendas. After two weeks, when they are the size of cooked rice, they eat through the fat of your skin and sound like a very popular brand of snappling and popping breakfast cereal. !!!.
I'm working basically nonstop until I leave for The Great North East. Hope you're doing swell.
