somnabitch! it's raining so much outside! i have to walk down an alleyway to get to my house, and this alleyway is very narrow with trees that drip all over you, so now i'm soaked.

i picked up the new(?) nick hornby book, 'the polysyllabic spree,' which is his year long acount of all the books he buys but never reads. it's pretty entertaining, though umberto eco still has the best essay on the subject, ever. he (eco) lists all the excuses he has on hand for when people visit his house and see all of his books and proceed to ask him if he's read all of them. i think the name of the essay is 'how to justify a personal library,' or something along those lines. it's good and funny: read it, especially if you own a lot of books.

i also picked up the cure's reissue of 'three imaginary boys,' their 1979 debut. aside from having the brightest pink cover ever, it's really really good, imperfect at times, but that's part of the charm. i'm probably going to review it for my friend's magazine, along with the baby huey story, if i can get my hands on a copy, and this band german oak, who, as churchmonster can tell you, are basically one of the best bands to ever walk the fucking earth. they recorded this album in i think 1970-something, holed up in an old WWII bunker in germany. tough as nails.

this is my sweet belt buckle from 1928:

now i'm going to waste time and maybe watch 'rivers and tides' again.

you know what's the best? clicking on a picture of a cute boy and seeing you're in his favourites.

i am angry tonight and that was the only thing to have made me smile. you deserve some sort of trophy or badge or medal... or at least a sash of some sort proclaiming you the winner.
