Well, the disapointment over the girl has given way to excitement about the trip. I put a stainless muzzy exhaust and K&N pods in the ZRX, as well as a new rear tire & some hard luggage that matches the bike. I Got a jetting kit w/ needles from Ivan's along with the exhaust, it runs perfect. Getting rid of the airbox enabled me to move the battery forward quite a bit. I can literally put a gallon jug of water under the seat, plus some. Work tomorrow, then leave for Colorado first thing Tues. morning. I'm riding with Dad so I'll not be in a rush, we'll take 2 days & do some sightseeing. I had a set of kneepads from some Vanson leathers that didn't fit so I took a pair of double knee carhartt canvas pants, cut the stitching on the top of the double material & slid the pads down in. Voila! the pads stay right where they belong inside the pants, but the pants are loose enough that they can move around a bit. I even found my missing battery charger for my camera so I'll have some pics when I get back in a week or so.
I had dinner with the folks last night, Mom was kind enough to re-tell a story from when I was five. She had told Dad not to take me on the motorcycle that day because it was going to rain. She came home from the store to find us and his CB750 gone and it was raining. Furious, she tracked us down and took me home. A couple hours later she was at the hospital giving my Father no sympathy while they were removing the gravel from his wounds with a wire brush. She loves telling that one.
(We all know they wouldn't use a WIRE brush, but she gets so much satisfaction from telling the story, we just let it be).

Sorry to hear about the gal... Enjoy your trip!
