Well I had some morning. As I was warming up my truck, it occured to me that the odd noise I was hearing under hard acceleration yesterday is likely a broken motor mount. Sure enough.
I load all the tools and nuts & bolts and generator etc... into the other truck and start to pull away. flat tire.
Ok, so I pull the generator back out from under all the crap, and start it up to run the compressor to fill the tire. it runs out of gas before it's warmed up.
I got some gas in a can in the garage, I'll not be discouraged so easily. I get the tire filled up and once the compressor and generator are shut off I hear the air pouring out of the ripped valve stem.
You're going to love this next bit: I got the back-up truck fairly recently and hadn't had to pull a rim for anything until now. Here's a novel idea: security lug, no key socket. breathe deep erik. I briefly consider knocking on the guy's door I bought the truck from (it's 6:00 am by now), but I come to my senses and realize he probably gave it to me and I put it somewhere much better than in the glovebox without thinking much about it. I deal with the lug wrench with a grinder, pipe wrench and hammer and vow to deal with everything today in a similar manner with similar explatives.
About an hour after I got to the marina I jumped in the water with a heavy piece of a broken part. I let it pull me down deep to where it's cold and dark, let go and floated up feeling much much better. I'm lucky I get to do that, it always straightens me out for some reason. (I understand that this is seems like littering, but the fish already have lots of my tools, so they need something to work on every so often) The whole thing was downright funny by 11:00
