Avatar might be the most intellectually insulting movie ever made, but then again I don't get out a lot. And insulting my intelligence isn't incredibly hard.
Mostly I am just sad for my people. I watch while their pockets are being strip-mined in exchange for shiny images and it makes me sad for future generations. Will our children ever know what it is like to watch a movie that has not been designed as a commercial to direct their thoughts? And to think that 40 years ago we were worried about science making subliminal mind control possible... Who'd have dreamed the people would VOLUNTARILY PAY RECORD MONEY for the privilage of being treated like a child.
