Sometimes when I sign in here on the office computer, my page will show my friends' most recent journal entries. I really like that, how can I make my computer here at home do it?
Justin gave me a two week notice, he's taking a job with a big company with better (ie. existant) benefits, smart kid! I'm feeling mildly fucked, I do 75% of my yearly buisiness in March, April & May. The learning curve with this stuff is pretty steep, Justin had been here for about 3 years & it's only the last year that I could turn him loose with most any situation. Sure was nice to be able to do that though. Maybe instead of a hard working guy who doesn't mind 12 hour days in 115 degrees, I should get back to doing all the dock shit myself and put an ad in the paper for a really hot secretary.
This cold (relative to my location of course) winter had me needing a decent jacket. Went & tried on Carharts & whatnot, but didn't really care for anything I found. Then I recalled the jacket I had from high school until somewhere between 27 & 30 or something. I can't for the life of me remember what happened to it. Likely that it's loss was due to heavy drinking/drugs at the time. So I set my mind upon getting a new (or a new used) M-65 field jacket, olive drab of course.
First thought was Hahn's surplus here in Vegas. They happened to be out of my size, although they did have knockoffs. (real ones are made by Alpha ). There is only one other surplus place I know of & they only had copies. Ebay is 90% copies, tons of online places are selling copies. Finally found a reasonable price online, ordered, waited. Got it about a week ago. I'm not really that into fashion & whatnot, but this jacket REALLY was missing from my life. I wore it to bed last night
. I just might move someplace cold.

I thank my dad all the time for the surplus military gear he got from his time in the air force. I use a field jacket liner inside my bike jacket now and I havent been cold once. Good shtuff.

those jackets are the best. i had one in high school. about two years ago i decided to get it out to wear it during winter. 
it didnt fit. so it just hangs in my closet. there is a store on jones and sahara, on the northeast corner that sells alot of surplus gear.
