leaving for a week at the Glamis dunes tomorrow. Went to find a video of all the stupid shit that goes on there, it's a nuthouse. But every time a video was entertaining the music was horrific. I won't put you through that. Here's one video of glamis in the 70's before the $75K 800hp sand cars.
As for the scene today, the big money stuff just doesn't impress me much.
I prefer the budget rides, standard old vw rides. Or the do-it yourself contraptions. There's a 4wd school bus there sometimes, a snow-cat or two, old jeeps & all sorts of odd-powered sand cars. The single seaters with snowmobile two strokes are my favorite. Hyabusa motors are popular of course, but most of those cars are bought rather than built. Hey, if I had the bread I'd probably buy that shit too. Or maybe I'd pay somebody to do my job, then I'd stay out in the garage. Here's a more modern video of a crowd gathered at oldsmobile hill. If you REALLY want to watch action videos with a kid rock or techno soundtrack just search for glamis on youtube.
