took the boat out today to watch the races. Nothing like a few 40' tubine powered boats ripping past side by side at 200+ mph. I took my camera & was all excited about posting pics, but as usual I left my fucking memory card in the computer . So here are some pics of other races I pulled from the computer:




Just like this race in Chattanooga, the only thing really keeping you from getting too close is good sense. There are volunteer boats making rounds keeping the truly stupid and/or drunk back. Picking our way through the crowd back to the marina after the race was aggrivating. Fucking bald gold-chain wearing asshats with race fever love to fly past way too close. I guess maybe to show off their three young bikini-clad passengers or something. People die on Lake Mead at a pretty rapid rate. I'm not sure if it does this year, but it has held the honor of the most deaths per (visitor) capita of any other National Park/Recreation Area before.
