For those of you who are constantly bored with the mechanical blah blah blah I insist on pushing on you, skip down to the second half for a pleasant surprise. Ok then, I started the dune buggy finally. I'm still getting the wiring figured out though. I'm doing the rear running/stop/turn signals with a single dual filament bulb, but from a toggle switch (on/off/on) on the dash. (problem: something needs to cut the brake light to one side when a turn signal is applied so that it will flash) first I tried a trailer wire converter made to adapt a trailer with 4 wire system to an auto with a 5 wire system. I'm still not sure WHY that didn't work, but it didn't. So I found this:

The new folks at Boulder Auto are getting the hang of things now, eventually we found some relays for about $8 a piece. The first ones they picked for me were $115 a piece (!?) I'm a big pain in their ass, I rarely go in there wanting a certain part for a certain vehicle. It's always "I need something that will do this. Then after a half hour of figuring (sometimes bordering on arguing becuase we don't understand what the other is saying) we find something that will work. Then, I say "awesome, now let's find something exactly like this one, only cheaper." The last owners & employees were remarkable for this sort of thing & they loved (or pretended to) me & my cousin. I got a lot of eye rolling and grumbling from the new folks for a while, I'm sure they were used to chain stores in the big city where if a customer can't give you part + make + model + engine + options then the customer is out of luck, because the computer is only set up that way.

part two:

Could the following signal a turning point for wheezy's journal? As you can see, the above is one single nut & bolt mechanical blah blah item. What we have below are TWO entirely separate items to discuss concerning... are you sitting down? BABIES.
A cousin & his wife had a baby almost three months early, she started hemoraging and was rushed to the hospital and had a c-section. The little guy weighs 2lbs. 11oz. there's all sorts of difficulties to deal with of course, but so far it seems nothing more serious than would be expected (although 3 months premature is a pretty serious situation regardless). Camden is his name, wish him luck.

Recently got this picture via email. I seriously believe that my niece Pheobe is maybe the cutest baby ever. Llook at those eyes, she's a thinker!

That relay diagram is Greek to me. Or maybe it's Klingon. Whatever it is, me no understand.

The big-eyed kidlet is mighty cute. She's thinking, "When is Uncle Wheezy gonna take me for a motorcycle ride?"
