Working on the buggy again. Got my motor rebuilt, siezed a bearing last spring, but didn't spin it luckily. It actually siezed after shutting off to let it cool for a while. No crank or case damage. I'm adding an external oil cooler, some other smart stuff, also painting & powdercoating existing stuff. I got some stock bug wheels for the front that will match the rears.
I got a fucking deal on a ton of VW / porshe stuff to build another buggy or three. A whole running '75 bus with 15K on the motor & trans too nice to part out really, a partially parted 914 with nice stock prorshe wheels & 4 wheel disc brakes, two porsche 5-speed trannies (all the air-cooled VW's have 4 speeds), one bus tranny, one 2000 (he thinks) type 4 motor unkown if it's porsche or VW, one 1800 type 4 bus motor, endless boxes of parts, including a lot of brand new stuff. I wasn't looking for more crap, it's from a friend wanted to quit paying storage rent. He said as long as you promise to build something out of some of this you can have it all for $500. What the hell I'm going to do with it all is beyond me, but I know I'll at least build one more fiberglass buggy with 4 wheel discs, and a 2L with a 5 speed.
This isn't a new pic, but you can see why I got some front wheels to match the backs.

present day: she sounds a little flaky, but based on signals and whatnot, if i were you i'd call her and say "i got your message and yeah, if you're into doing something next weekend, set it up and i'll be there." one last try? maybe?

for now.
