I'm thinking it may be time to retire my friend in the hard hat. But it kind of makes me sad. I still get a chuckle when I imagine somebody (like a young girl properly wary of wierdos) thinking it's an actual picture of myself. I want to grow some hair & a beard again this winter, I'm debating whether to give myself one last summer clipper job or get a good head start. I completely destroyed my ipod library, 4500+ songs with all the fucking info handtyped since they came from vinyl. I hear that back-up disks are what the smart people do. I decided to take the time before I start re-recording to get a couple turntable issues straightened out. My reciever's phono preamp levels are uneven , so I traded a freind a suave old luxman tuner & some neat ashtrays for a top notch creek stand alone phono preamp. I'll go straight to the computer with it bypassing my reciever. I made a nice solid shelf out of thin layers of MDF glued together that I'll hang from the ceiling since I have a suspended wood floor rather than a slab foundation. If you tap on my stereo rack you can see it vibrate & if the cat jumps down from my desk anywhere near it the recod skips. Which causes me to throw things which causes more skipping which causes more throwing, etc... Since I'm out of my own homade record cleaning fluid (3 parts distilled water, 1 part rubbing alcohol, ten drops photoflo per quart) I decided to spring for a half-gallon of some fancy schmancy stuff. Probably no better than my secret sauce, but who knows. Along with that I got some replacement brushes for the cleaning machine, I had stopped using it on any decent records because they were so worn.
540 miles on the R1, I picked up oil & filter for the 600 mile service. Hello graves exhaust, goodbye catalytic converter. Also block off plates for the air injection. Between the added heat from air injection and the cat those fucking undertail pipes cook my ass. Big difference now. Power comander costed no more than my retarded ass would've spent on jets & needles trying to get the carbs right if the thing had carbs. (That's an exaggeration, but damn does fuel injection make things easy.)
Hey, remember with the old layout we could hit "bookmarks" and see who of our friends updated last? That was handy & I've been slacking on dropping by to say hi. Is there anything now that does that, or do I just have to go friend by friend?

ps - though I CAN listen to stern, it gives me the sensation that I'm splitting apart inside, a little bit. Especially if, god forbid, I'm also watching it on tv. No, the song is just always stuck in my head.
