Well, it's happened again. I had to rescue another neglected pet, an R1. I'll take a pic today, but here's one from the outernet. It's shown next to one of the 80's Yams that inspired its 50th anniversary yellow:

It had been chained up since January and badly needs exercise (and the fuel drained & replaced). If it didn't actually need breaking in and/or it wasn't 110 degrees out I'd just fill the rest of the tank with 91 & use it up. 86 miles on it, a little more than half the price of what the fella said he paid 7 months ago. It was the first motorcycle he ever rode (no dirt bikes either) and he didn't care for the experience so he bought himself a porsche instead. I think he got off lucky (ie. with his life) taking the economic hit. I had talked to him a month ago & made him an insultingly low offer, telling him to keep my number in the unlikely case that he couldn't get what he wanted for it. During that month he took two deposits from people who couldn't come up with the rest, once through ebay, once from the paper. Add those deposits to my insult & it got him close enough to what he was looking for I guess, what are the chances of that? To make the deal REALLY disgustingly awesome, Nevada recently adopted a new new policy of no sales tax for private party vehicle sales. Thanks for the $$$ Nevada. I'll use it wisely. On an exhaust get-up, mwahahahaha.
Don't bother telling me I'm spoiled, I can't hear you because I'm going too fast.

Watch this video, if you don't believe the guy is really going that fast there's a video off to the side of him getting caught on radar. Crazy.

Oh yeah, have you tried stretching the spring in your petcock? The spring sags with age, and you have to stretch it back out so it'll do the job and plug the hole with enough force.

Not one speck of irony.
