Had fun at the dunes, broke some things and fixed some things. I need to take my welder along in the future. back to 12+ hour days
. DMV called, they want me to bring my 59 "bug" in for an in-person VIN inspection. -I took the buggy to the local constable after the DMV said they'd not continue the title as a volkswagen bug. It would have to be a "special construction" built in 2006 requiring yearly smog or yearly smog exemption. Constable had no problem with the inspection, and having him do it is 100% within the law. He did write "dune buggy" on the model instead of "bug", but the lady at the DMV desk had no problem with the inspection. Some beurocrat (sp?) down the red tape path is probably angered that a greasy nobody can spend next to nothing, get thier hands dirty and end up with something ten times as fun as their Volvo. Can't really blame them, I doubt I'd be much fun if my job involved regulating my neighbors either. I'm considering removing the fiberglass body, putting it on a trailer and taking it in. "The rest is at the paint shop, but there's the VIN number right there."
