I had a great Thanksgiving. I landed Fort Collins just after the snow stopped on Wednesday, brother-in-law picked me up and dropped me off at a tire store where I retrieved Dad's truck with some brand new studded snow tires. A treat compared with chaining and de-chaining every time you go to town. At some point I want to buy a video camera, and when...

remember my friend the drummer with the low-power radio station? The kid who posted the last video interview has posted a bunch more, these two are the best. If you're especially into drums and rock drum history you can go check out the other ones, but I think these two have the most general appeal. The general appeal being Sandy's unique (read: questionably sane) personality....

RV spokespersons aren't the only ones who lose it.

"Hi this is Barry White and Paul Quinn College cordially invites your ass to come on down..."

And now for a very special dedication to a little dog named snuggles:

might as well keep good 'ol Jack along for a while yet:

we got flies coming for us.

From Jack Rebney's (that's the guy's name) wikipedia page:

The Shasta County Sheriff's Office[4] web site has reported that Mr. Rebney, who is now vision impaired, took his dog for a walk at 2:00 PM on August 2nd, 2007 and never returned home. After his neighbors reported him missing at 10:00 PM, sheriff's deputies found him in a creek...

I think it's been long enough since the last time I went on about my love for Roky Erikson. Besides there's some new old footage up on youtube.

he's looking pretty disheveled here, and if you know his history with mental illness this number will tug at your heart a little. "I'm on the right track now":

"please judge":

there's still no good footage of...

I just typed with her last night. She split SG a few months ago, and oddly enough asked me what happened to your MySpace page! I guess you'll have to put it back up... If you're worried about it being a time suck, you could do like me and just not pay any attention to it...

Anyhow, you see there's this fucking flower kinda thing over here, right? Only look at it, it ain't no flower at all, is it? You see that's where you're wrong right there. Sure, it don't LOOK like no motherfucking flower, but it is. Probably in a couple a days it'll open it's little fucking flower shit all up, right? Then you're gonna look at it...

BLAKE????
I KNOW Blake!
I know all those Jawbreaker guys.
Well I've fallen outta touch for the most part, but we all went to college together.
Their bass player was in my old band.
And Blake's old girlfriend was the original bass player in FRENCH!!!!

yeah, i probably have a more acute (read: more cute!) version of what your sister had/has. or at least a cousin of it.

totally did the diet thing for years. spent 1000's on bloodtests to determine what foods/spices etc. i was sensitive to. lived on unseasoned fish and steamed greens for years. it didn't help. (unless looking heroin chic is "helping.") then i went to more esoteric "healers" who put various foods into my "energy field" and tested me that way. then i cut out what they told me to.

some people benefit from diet modification and some people don't. i didn't. still, it's uncanny, cuz i was up last night reading all these blogs about going raw (w/ food that is). eating healthy can't hurt, but is hasn't proved to be my panacea. thanxx for taking the time to connect the dots and throw down the thoughtful advice. and yes, i'd wager that i am as stubborn as you. go ahead and prove me wrong.

Went searching youtube for a Furry Lewis song I posted here before and came back with a couple new gems.

Big Joe Williams - check out the state of his guitar on the close ups, it appears to be falling the fuck apart. The playing is freaking crazed and nutty good though, very different. Starts a little slow but builds.

Hey, I know what happened...

This new 530 chain came with a rivet master link. I also have a clip type, and I don't have a proper rivet staking tool, but I do have a pipe flaring tool and I'm thinking I can possibly adapt that to work...

That said, I had a clip type master link on my old 630 chain and never had a problem with it, I even ran it with the clip facing the wrong direction for a few thousand miles!

I also don't have a chain breaker, and I'm pretty sure I'll have to remove some links to make this chain fit. When my old 630 chain started getting stretched out I used a Dremel and ground off the head of one rivet.

Improvise, adapt, overcome, right?

amazing how quickly I go from overreacting to indifference. Nothing new to talk about, just wanted to change the subject. And I'm changing the subject to DEVO! I can never make up my mind which of these two songs are their best, uncontrolable urge or mongoloid, help me out.

I'm a little sad about this whole business. First, before anyone decides to drop me from their friend list allow me to make 2 brief statements, please.
1. I absolutely abhor both racism and rape.
2. If your view is that symbols and depictions of either should be removed whenever they pop up or sneak past whomever is charge (here or elsewhere), I totally respect...

Ok, you should sit down for this one. I need to set the stage a bit, but rest assured it's not my typical "oh this band is cool" or "oh look what I did to the car/bike" stuff. Bear with me, you'll be glad that you did so long as you don't spit your soda out on your keyboard.

Ever seen Two Lane Blacktop?

I've seen front tires worn the way your dad's was. The previous owner ran it under-inflated, there's nothing to do but replace the tire. The VT500 Ascot I gave my buddy had that same problem (the previous owner was apparently dumb enough to have caused this problem, among many others...)
