apologies to all who have been commenting in my journal without me doing the same, I've not been spending as much time online as I used to. Mostly working 12s, training some guys so hopefully it'll ease up on me a bit when they can work on their own.
Car: After getting the trans issues sorted I turned my attention to why the car was...

check it out bitches. I have aching transmission fluid soaked cuts on both hands and my head, I have a gnarly headache, I'm way past starving, and I have all four gears in the mustang. I'm happy enough to dance a jig. My luck is good, perhaps I should drop a few bucks in a video poker machine? I NEVER gamble.

Only four?
Bitch?

Sounds like a small price to pay for all four gears in the 'Stang. Congrats!!

O shit fuck ass. I don't feel like typing out my frustration twice so here's a cut & paste from formuscle.com thread concerning my missing 3rd & 4th gears:

Ok, here's an update. I pulled the valve body and went through the shift kit install instructions again fully intending to pull the od servo as well. I was very happy to find two pieces of...

OUCH! ... about the trans...

Norvin sounds like quite the character...

The Chef is a favorite!
So is the Professor, and Beaker!
Right now, our favorite, but have yet to find, is the two aliens, with the phone... I'll go find it...
philipfry:
That sucks about the trans. I need to replace the one in my Buick but Im not to motivated to get it done. And theres nothing wrong with talking like the Swedish Chef in public. I do it all the time... biggrin

fuggin hell I'm busy. not a complaint. I'm almost certain I tracked down my missing 3rd & 4th gear on the coupe. Pulled the valve body, the 2-3 valve assembly was stuck without a doubt. I pulled it out & took some 800 & 1500 sandpaper to the travelling/sealing surfaces & it now moves through its range nice and smooth. Hopefully I'll put the valve...

ok. friend's victory in the garage for a month is getting a little old. first- the set of head & base gaskets he got ended up being 2 rears. second - he pulled a stud out of the case torqing the heads (luckily it was the rear for which we now have 3 gaskets). Third, he took the stud to get a helicoil the right...

Awww, I miss having a fast car. That makes me want to dig into the Flinkin... Then I realize how much money that's going to cost to get it running and I go back to tinkering on my bike.

How's the quality on that Victory? Is it as big a piece of shit as a Harley?
heterochromia:
The Triumph dealer in Sac also sells Victorys (Victories?). I don't care for the styling, too Harley-like for my taste. Say, how's that Norvin of yours doing?

That's fucking crazy!

Wow. Old people are so cute when they dance and listen to rock n roll.

I've been pretty absent here lately, busy playing monopoly. Spring means an excess of work & I've been training some new guys. This year there's an invasive species of mussel in the lake that causes a lot of headaches for boats. I doubt it will have the huge effect on our boat lift business that others assume, but I don't at all doubt that it...

I was working on my clothes dryer one time. It was a 220 model, an old Norge and it worked great but the bearings on the drum were shot to shit. I was using carburetor cleaner to get the cooked on grease off of the bearings and spacers. I sprayed enough to fill the laundry room with fumes, which eventually made their way to the pilot light on the water heater... (insert mental movie of me break dancing, all the hair on my arms on fire)

Glad your business is rocking along, bummer about the zebra mussels. The main problem we're having with out local lakes is that they're drying up. Levels are way down, dangerously low. All kinds of debris is starting to show up: boats and cars that were sunk decades ago, submerged tree stumps from back before the lakes were originally flooded (all the many, many lakes in Oklahoma were made by the Army Corps of Engineers.)

I like fire when it doesnt involve me or my stuff. Good to hear that no neighbors or Mustangs we harmed. Not to sound totally ignorant but what all is involved with a lift business?

O SNAP! who loves Biz Markie?

"OH SNAP! Guess what I saw?" I use that line to this very day. Awesome song. biggrin

Wow. The car runs, and seems to run well. I was almost counting on it not firing up, so much so that I spaced a few little details. Worst of which was that I left a piece of the wiring harness laying on top of the headers, which promptly melted & shorted a wire. I'm not sure what the particular wire does yet, but it...

Hmmm... modulator valve? I got nothin'...

But hey, it runs! That's a great starting point, just needs some trouble shooting and fine tuning and TLC!

What's the deal with the collectors? How about running eight straight pipes to the back bumper, and putting eight little Supertrapp cans on them? biggrin

Is that buckethead off yet, huh, huh, huh? A dog's gotta lick his weiner, you know. smile

Whoee. The dog (NORVIN!) is a handful. I know that he really wants to be a good dog, but in his 10 months nobody has taken the time to show him how awesome it is to go to the bathroom outside. A very nice custom made rug is hanging up outside drying off, the rest are now on top of the motorcycles in the shed....

thanks for the input. yeah, i've been wicked anxious/ depressed since i was like four. i've stopped smoking, to make sure that wasn't contributing. oddly, i'm still craving donuts! though not the kind that you eat wink .

i take drugs for depression, have for ten years. so when something gathers enough steam to break through that chemical wall i try to examine the issues afoot. one word: marriage. just a guess.

re: the plural of mongoose, for years i swore that the plural of moose was meese, so i'm right with ya there.

I had a long day meeting lots of dogs, I now want several. I had an early appontment at the B.C. shelter, then I went down to Henderson Animal control, then on to the main Las Vegas shelter (655 N. Mojave).

I was very impressed with the facility's design, not fancy but well thought out, very practical. I LOVE it...

I read an article about the main shelter in Popular Science about how environmentally friendly it is in its setup. As far as names go, I like Milton or just Winston. biggrin
