My recent journal updates have been nearly devoid of entertainment. I apologize but this one won't be much different. No pics, no videos, too busy. EDIT: I decided to go search youtube for the best scene from the best movie ever, it's now included below for your entertainment. Anyhow, Colorado was a blast as always. Went tubing - my tube popped about 1/3 of the...

Well at least its acutal rain. Instead of the 106 temp and 50% humidity. But still no riding sucks.

I'm leaving 4 am friday for Colorado if I can get all my shit in line. The bike is ready, work is not. Paul kinda wigged out a bit last time I left him with stuff to do for a couple days without my assistance. It's a confidence thing, he can figure stuff out, he just doesn't realize it. I can leave rough guides of...

"This forklift is retarded"

I had to go pick up some stuff at the convention center this morning, took Paul along in case we had to lift something heavy. The lady in charge is making conversation while we wait for 8:00 to arrive so the union doesn't implode or something. "Why are you picking this stuff up honey?"
"I do business with the company who...

wait, i thought mono _was_ the "kissing disease." anyway, yeah, same symptoms as the bandmates. goddam that glass of coffee milk we all shared ("what, you've never tried coffee milk before! dude, you've got to take a sip, it's sooo good!" etc.). they say 2-4 weeks of sluggishness/bedrest, and then symtpoms can linger. you'd think i wouldn't even notice with my plate sorta full and all, but i'm noticing. the bonus? coconut popsicles, baby.
kenyon:
dur. i guess i've got 18 hour delay on joke reception. i blame the fucking mono!

Today sucked. 12 1/2 hours in the sun. Then on leaving the marina parking lot I totally smashed somebody's car door & front quarter panel. They were parked next to me & I didn't see the little bitty car out the passenger window of the truck. (yes, I did leave a note with my info) Then I find out I get to work tomorrow, oh...

I suppose with great performance comes great complexity.

Talking about the R1, not your eyes... wink

I'm generally not much for dancing and that's an understatement. But you should have seen me today when a bee crawled up my shorts and gave me a sting on the leg. Not much else to report, work work work. things are good. Eye is still better each day, should be no issue for another ten years if the pattern holds. Works for me.

Good to hear of the peeper progress!

I'm actually going to use a single 15" speaker for this custom amp, and I'd never use a tweeter. All the guitar's sound is in the midrange, so a 15" will smooth out the transients and give the amp some depth and smoothness, as well as a nice big round bottom...
guitargeek:
Oh yeah, important point here...

Wattage is logarithmic. My little Kalamazoo amp is quite loud even though it's only about 10 watts. 20 watts is not twice as loud as 10 watts, 100 watts is twice as loud as 10 watts.

So what's the difference between a 50 watt amp and a 100 watt amp? The 100 watter will only be a little louder, but a lot cleaner sounding.

With the tricks I'm using for this amp to bring the wattage down, it'll still have quite a bit of volume but the the distortion characteristics will be sweet and organic sounding. It'll have one knob. If you want it to distort, just turn it up.

I got to take the R1 out of time out this weekend, my eyeballs really work very nicely on it now. I think it would be wise to get some higher clip-ons so I sit up just a little bit more. Even though I'm not seeing double at all I am holding my head back from it's natural position in order for my eyes to...

I woke up this morning to a big improvement in the eye. If the doc would have been a little clearer on what to expect post surgery it might have saved me some worry, but no biggie. Since things today are working better than yesterday (& probably yesterday was better than the day before but not so noticable) I think I can expect them to...

i'll get on the old tv thing next. by the time i'm through with the system, all televisions across the continent will have reverted to black and white.

Thanks, man!

Complaining is making me feel icky. The eye will work out, it's just a nuisance and a minor one at that. Take a second to wish my friend ASSHoLE a speedy recovery from a car accident.

We are very very close to the dvd release of You're Gonna Miss Me, I've pre-ordered mine & you should do the same, it's awesome. Keep in mind...

Ha! Costello and Newman--that's about right. The lyrics are great, and the music is solid. I like their new album quite a bit, but I'd start with the one before, "Separation Sunday". The album is a semi-rock-opera and has some really interesting religious stuff interwoven through the lyrics. Worth investing in!

I'm hoping for the best re: your eye.

Shit, this isn't good. I'm not at all happy with the surgery result, vision is much worse than before. Although I do see one image when I hold my head in it's natural position for riding the bikes with low bars: head slightly down, eyes slightly up. If I look up or down at all from that slightly up position, it's double. Before I could...

Fuck, dude, I do not envy you a bit. I wear contact lenses and that's bad enough, I get all panicky if I get an eyelash or some dust in there.

Hang in there, keep working with the doc and this'll all work out. I mean... she has to warranty her work, right?
jtemperance:
Sounds bad, man. I hope it'll get better within the week. Otherwise, americanize their ass and sue.

ouch, hurts. can you believe that the ac went out at the surgery center? 119 outside, 105 or so inside they said, lovlely. I'm hometrying to get rid of the caffiene withdrawl headache. I knew should've had a cup this morning when else have I actually followed a doctor's directions? she must have had a look around at the muscles on my right eye also,...

Dude are you okay? Must've missed a blog--did you have eye surgery?

In high school, we had a tape that was I against I on one side and Licensed to Ill on the other, and we played that shit constantly. Tho the Angry Samoans have some serious homophobia issues, when they're funny, they're damn funny. And "Not of this Earth" is one of my very favoritest songs.
