Another day passes in the life of Weston

With each passing day, I am brought closer to an unwanted future

The Future Scares Me

I used to look forward to the future. I was filled with hopes and dreams. But these daysThese days the future is something of terror for me.

Next month I have another MRI. To be honest, I am scared shitless about it. Why you ask? Simply put, they have rarely brought me good news. Next month will also be three years since my diagnosis. Maybe I should start sacrificing chickens to the tumor gods in December? frown

What scares my most is that I have no idea what is going to happen in the future. With goals, dreams, hopes, etc. you can follow a path and make those goals attainable. But with thisNo matter what I do, I can't change the courseIt is already determined. I don't know if this whole thing is going to go on for another year, or another five years. And nothing I do can change that. I've completely changed my life. I've dedicated three years to dealing and trying to live around my condition. I'm just not sure how long I can do this anymore.

Good Times

So, John and Angelo kidnapped me again. We went out to breakfast and talked about girls mostly (Honestly what else is a trio of guys going to talk about?). Afterwards Angelo said he wanted to go out and draw the Coronado Bridge. John ditched us, so we ended up taking Angelo's car. This would be a good time to point this out for those of you who don't knowAngelo is going to boot camp in roughly a month, so any time I get to spend with him is always welcome. He has a list of things he wants to do before he leaves, and drawing the bridge was one of them, so I happily tagged along.

Anyway, to continue with the story, we get out there, then realize it might be a good idea if we had chairs. So, we drive back to my house, grab a couple chairs and my sketchbook as well, then head back out. We go about sketching and talking about whatever. My sketch was horrendousBut what can I expect? I haven't really drawn anything in the past year frown I was proud of a tree I drew, but that was about it lol tongue

The whole thing was actually a really nice outing. Usually we are always doing something (I.e., going to the movies, bowling, driving around, etc.). It was nice just to sit out, chill, and talk. And like I said, his time is limited here, so it was nice just to hang out together.

Many good times were had for sure. We definitely need to get together again.

The Wrap-Up

Well, this turned out to be a much shorter update than I had thought it would be. Oh well, I guess I just had to get that off my chest, and I figured I might as well share my outing wink Hope you all have a fantastic week!
