Snowed in the heartland - good slow wet snow - beneficial to all the agricultural endeavors (or so I'm told)...and it melted off the streets very quickly. Perfect or near perfect snow.
Of course the snow tends to shorten my walks with the dog - Arlo - rescued spaniel, <mumble>, <eerrrgtt> mix. A little too exuberant to be 6 to 7 years old. I try to walk him for 20-30-40 minutes each night and ponder the state of my life. The snow makes the time slower - which was good since even a little time and I can drive my BP way up and those fight (f... flight) hormones cranked thinking about the dweebs we have in our national government. I am ashamed of the lot of them - collectively and almost all individually. The Schaivo case and the logical extensions that should come from it (we are a learning, growing society, right); the Jackson issue ... continued virtual incomprehension at the effects of "compassionate conservatism", The idiots in the Congress that will wrestle with sports drugs instead of children without health care; that will stand for states' rights unless the states don't do what they want; and the person filling the most respected position in the secular free world (oh wait - maybe not any longer) - anyway Mr. Bush continues to lie to us (personal accounts will fix SS [no they don't] and we'll wait until N.Korea gets into the talsk [bullshit- Mr BushMuscles is planing to invade "because we can't wait" any longer - I am sure. And I'm quite sure that NK would happily test one of thier nukes someplace (maybe us). And the Congress has the thumb up their collective ASS elsecially with Steriods and Schiavo (hmmm they work to make weak people strong, huh?) but they still have take no action that makes life better or easier for however scores of millions basic people are getting shafted. The rich get richer is the philosopy - there doesn't seem to be an action specified of the poor, whether they were getting poorer or pushed out on to ice floes at age 65 .. to wait, now 67. That there has been as much discussion on social security as there has been is simply (said knowing that I don't know everything and might be wrong) STUPID. (a) NOT A CRISIS - problem, yes. Don't over react. (b) The president raised the funding issue and put forth the private accounts as a solution. It was a lie! We should call him a lier. Last time I checked lying under oath is pergury. The Persidential Oath is 4 years long - a lie during that time is a lie under oath which is perjury. Perjury is a crime - impeach him. Lets get the members of Congress too. There is ABSOLUTELY NO REASON AN ELECTED OFFICIAL SHOULD *EVER* LIE TO THE AMERICAN PUBLIC.
Well you see kinda how my mind wonders when I'm out walking the dog so the snow making our trips shorter has probably kept my blood pressure better. The dog hates it ... as my blood pressure rises he gets less walk. Tonight was good - hope that holds him for a while.
