I thought I did this earlier. Recovering from the election. I think a lot of people are going to suffer, and we're going to lose some of what the rest of the world saw as what made America great. Also, paranoid isolationism has a tendency to spiral in on itself - taking the behavior to an extreme. I was surprised to look in my Online Oxford American Dictionary and find

(in general use) extreme right-wing, authoritarian, or intolerant views or practice.
If we're not already there we will be before Mr. Bush leaves office. My darker prediction is that by the time Mr. Bush leaves office, the USA will no longer be First among the nations of the world. But I hope not .
