I have named the new bird. He is called Icarus. 
I'm not sure if I'm in trouble or not though, I think my lad was a bit more annoyed than I expected him to be. 
He says he's just tired but I'm not sure. I think I need to bake a cake to make it up to him. Everything can be made better with chocolate cake.
My discovery for today is that weeding gardens full of burrs is TEH WORST THING EVAR. No, really. I have burrs up my sleeves, clotted in my shoelaces, in my hair, in the seat of my pants, and most other places besides. Ow. Ow ow ow.
I have to keep reminding myself that the neglected garden was one of the reasons why I could buy this house so cheaply; and that by fixing it, I'm making the house more valuable. Yes. *sigh* Back into it I suppose...
