Today my day was made by a forgotten quote.

"And you, liar, teller of tall tales: you trample all the Lord's commandments underfoot, you murder; steal, commit adultery, and afterward break into tears, beat your breast, take down your guitar and turn the sin into a song. Shrewd devil, you know very well that God pardons singers no matter what they do, because he can...

Hehe, thanks!

My boss keeps telling me to read Kitchen Confidential. Glad to hear that someone else agrees. Perhaps I will read it, then.

You ever have one of those weeks where you're unable to account for any of the lots of time you've spent doing...something? I've tomorrow off and I've been trying to reckon why I'm so exhausted. Perhaps I should just chalk it up to lack of sleep. That excuse is almost always in season.

I was able to hangout with the ever dearest, ever-greyed AmazonRed13 on...

This past week has been mostly spent catching up on bills... I retooled my car insurance coverage knocking about $300 off of my cumlative bill. biggrin When I paid my Verizon bill, I discovered that was my 2-year anniversary w/ them and time to renew my contract. In doing so, I was able to aqcuire a new phone - a LG VX7000. love I dug around on...

So, how do I celebrate St. Valentine's Day..? Quite simply, I don't. It isn't that it's an overly-commercialized profiteering extravaganza, which it is. It's because it's an allowed 'get outta jail for free' card for the peon culture. I've known folk and groaned over their weak-kneed acceptance of a $8 box of Russell Stover chocolates and a matching white 'Be Mine' teddy bear. puke whatever

I couldn't...

I went to a free movie ... it was a date ... but you gotta give me points for it being free. Also it was a whim and not Valentinesy. Glad you had a good/normal day. I did too. ooo aaa
darkrabbit:
Well, my anti-valentines date went ok. Unfortunately my date didnt want to have as much fun as me and wouldnt go along with a fake proposal/ rejection/breakup thing at the restaurant... frown In her words " Do that and I'll kill you" lol
Well, it was still a fun evening... She's really cool, and I wish shed go out to an SGCT event to meet you all. Don't think SG is her cup of tea though... Even though she likes boobies tongue

Eeek! It feels like I haven't updated in near forever for, I haven't... D'oh! Work and time away from work has kept me busy. Busy in the sense that I run around, perform errands of some significance at the time but, in hindsight, immemorable. At work, this week served as the first week of major staffing changes. Usually such upheavals are dramatic and cause for...

ipod, upod, we all pod for ipod! tongue

correct me if i'm wrong, my friend, but doen't best buy have a 90-day return policy anyway? and isn't there a 1-year manufacturer's warranty?

i once bought a (rather pricey) 5-year extended warranty on a 5-disc cd changer from circuit city. i had to force myself to extract it from my stereo set every year or so to bring it in for cleaning/maintainence, as it covered by my extended warranty. felt like i had to get my money's worth. so i was without cd-playing capabilities for longer than it seemed necessary while they "cleaned" my cd changer. i tried to coordinate these occasions around the time i would move, so as to minimize the hassle it created for me. eventually the extended warranty expired... and the damn cd changer played perfectly for like 15 years anyway!!

when i worked for staples i ran the electronics dept. selling those extended warranties was always a priority for the corporate bobble-heads. (100% profit margin, anyone?) and here i was always down-selling customers: "no, sir, don't pay $600 for that MS-Office package. you already have MS-Works pre-installed, right? all you need is the $99 Office Upgrade." corporaate retail is not for me. ARRR!!!

every so often someone makes good on an extended warranty and thank god, cause it ends up saving time, money, hassle and it's totally worth it. i suggest you play Powerball before your luck changes biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin

Let's see... Sushi with SGCT'ers was both terrible amounts of fun and an incredible drain on the wallet! Much like shopping while you're hungry, ordering delicious fusion rolls while buzzed on sake and beer whilst spinning Louis Armstrong and Sly & The Family Stone may cause a famished fellow to get happily carried away. biggrin Rudy's with the ever-greyed AmazonRed13 and her boyfriend afterwards, or technically...

A brief break from the site taken over the weekend... More due to getting out and having fun than being with nothing to say to you fine folk! wink For the past couple of days I've been trying to repair (in relative terms) the XBox that AlienPrincess and I bought for Xmas. I'd played a game ripped to its hard drive, saved it and rebooted to...

biggrin It is so like you to be the first to comment when I reappear. You are the second-best boy ever!

I am back for a bit. I could no longer resist the lure of the artful (and art full) nakedness of SG. blush

Plus I have missed talking with you more frequently and reading arachne's wonderful musings.

You're such a cute geek! Is it scary that I sorta almost understand what you said by way of the osmosis that I get from my Boy? Teehee!
