So...long time, no updates you say. I say, "You're right. For I've been a busy boy." Life at work has been good but frantic. Gone are the days where my co-workers and supervisors gingerly hand me assignments or are patient in wanting results. I've acclimated to the office's 'sink or swim' discourse on the human service world and have lived to tell the tale. Most...

"Gemini (May 21 - June 20): 'Motivation will most almost always beat mere talent,' says businessman Norman R. Augustine. You've been a victim of that fact on several occaisions, Gemini. People with less skill than you have won out because they had more raw drive than you. Now I'm alerting you to the possibility that the same...

Cool
I think Sagittarius has a lot of drive, but not much focus.
My motto for 2006 comes from the Simpsons, the ageing hippy behind the recycling stall:
'Simplify, man!'

(was it with you I was swapping the 'chowder' lines a while back? 'Say it, Frenchie', etc? I was fondly remembering this exchange when I made a bacon and blue cheese chowder the other week)

So: good luck with going back to school. I think I want to get into therapy next year too, and also, now you come to mention it, learn some music (I figure I'll start with yer basic piano) - but it will be several months before I can afford either...

You ever notice in the human condition, there are people out there who are best suited to take the single step to kick off the journey of a thousand miles..? I notice more and more over time that I'm not one of them and I'm not sure how that makes me feel.

"If you do not climb, you will not fall. This is true.
But...

In honor of continuing a relative roll on a sucessful subject, I bring you 20 more things about WelnTaod but, were afraid to ask:

21) I attribute any talents I have in human services from being a wallflower in high school. In just observing people in such an intense environment teaches you more than in any Psych 101 course on Earth.

22) Long after I'm...

Alas, no haircut this week but, life marches on... Last week found me with the last of my training completed and I was left on my own to sink or swim, as the case my be. It seems that I'm gaining some traction, slowly but surely. My client load seems to enjoy my company and I haven't too many complaints about others I work with....

Sometimes I forget completely what companionship is.
Unconscious and insane, I spill sad energy everywhere.
My story gets told in various ways: a romance,
a dirty joke, a war, a vacancy.

Divide up my forgetfulness to any number,
it will go around.
These dark suggestions that I follow,
are they part of some plan?
Friends, be careful. Don't come near me
out of curiousity, or...

Yes, yes... An unexpected greyness but, not a long-lasting one. In the new job, I was expecting a possible delay in when my paycheck direct deposit would be in full effect. Happily I was paid much more than I though I was going to be so, mixed blessing all around.

So, I reckon my now displaced faithful four readers would like to know what I've...

So much to talk about! With a grumbling stomach and ideas sprouting about what's in my fridge, I may keep my mental sprawl to a trickle for today...we'll see. wink

Saturday was the funeral for my friend and the whole event was far less horrible that I'd first assumed. I had this idea that was former staff (due to inter-office bad-mouthing of my ill-timed departure in...

seriously.. the only cup i have ever read. and i get alot of those cups... i guess something wanted me to read it.
i should start off to say the number 37 haunts me. for many reasons.
so ironic to the point of - it was "the way i see it # 37". and another reason - so many things have changed for me this weekend. and if i didnt live it, i would have missed out on alot of good talks, laughs, memories and last seeing's for a few awesome close friends for a long time.
that was the end for me after i read that.. i read it right after i knew i wasnt going to see my good friend before he left for cali. (i talked about that in an entry before the one i just posted i believe), and after learning my other good friend is being shipped off to Afganistan after christmas.
i earned all that, read my cup. and burst into tears in the middle of starbucks.

well.. that and starbucks is running my local coffee shop under, because a new one opened up down the street from it.
its my second coffee shop to go under because of new starbucks opening.
like that simspons episode, where the mall is turning into just starbucks coffee shops.
le sigh.
joshof13thfloor:
Sorry to hear about your friend.

Well, at least you've been keeping busy, lol. Then again, as long as i've known you that's never really been a problem, has it?

I hope all is well with you and yours.

Peace.

So, I've been having a conflicting couple of days... I hadn't mentioned it here but, the agency I'm jumping hoops for contacted me late last week with a quandary. All of the references they'd contacted thus far had been peers and subordinates at varied positions. The superiors at my former gig by policy aren't able to give more than the most bare facts of my...
