If Love Were An Illegal Drug
Maybe then you would search me out

in dark alleys,
in strangers hazy living rooms,
in back corners of velvet bars
and all-night strip joints,
while some other drug
sat breathless in bed
ticking with the clock
for your return....

A day in the life of my Monday... I got around to calling SBC about getting an official update on my service trandfer on DSL. *sigh* Over the next hour, I get a remarkable tale of intrigue, crossed channels, poor decisions and my new telephone number. It seems that the person whose number this was before me had AOL Broadband & this service was never...

Hey there vacation mon! Hope that the chill time is treating you sweetly.
Thanks for the additional word on Jeff Buckley. Apparently I NEED to go music shopping. Teehee!
Much appreciation as well for the toe crossing. I have complete faith in the unseen forces. I have done what I can to prepare for this, and whatever way things resolve, I will be accepting. (We might just need more time to gather our resources, or we could be shopping for a house in earnest!) It's all good.
You wouldn't believe the excitement on the day that I realized that our front door was metal!!! Talk about the ultimate magnetic poetry canvas. I need to digitally preserve some of the poetic montages, which have been created by my sol man. He has quite the way with language.
The Hafiz was beautiful, beautifully light. All of my SG peeps continually amaze me, but you and Princess have a most special place in my mind and heart. Someday I will get around to writing you both testimonials. You get big word up from stari girls, yo! *followed by squishes most sincere*
PS~ On my ceiling is one amazing sunflower handmade dye, while the lion of zion struts proudly on the red, gold and green scene, and Nepalese prayer flags flutter around my alter space.
Can't wait to hear more about how your space is made colorful and comforting!

Hola all... I spent this evening celebrating my sister's 26th B-day... This can be both a good and a bad thing. Good in the sense of spending time w/ someone who you've grown up with, knows the back story of every anecdote & gets all your jokes. Bad in the sense of she's a self-slighted manipulating middle child who feels obligated to most things that...

Isnt it great to have time to spend actually enjoying the newness of what you and the princess have really created? It sounds great, romantic, and all around like the best way to start of the new year. I am really happy for you and her bro.
Glad the birthday went off without a hitch, but dont you kinda look back and wonder if your excuse had been "i got to go cash in a winning lottery ticket...." if you would have had the same luck???
Warm regards to you and the lil lady.

Cupcakes and excuses. I was struck by that simple yet so complex phrase.
Glad to hear that you're enjoying your vacation.

Ahhh, friends...the wonder of vacation! I have off from today through the 28th. So far, I've spent it catching up with with my magnifcent friend, Amanda @ Studio Zee (who will shortly have an account here), dropping a chunk at Trader Joe's & enjoying their cold sesame noodles with the case of Newcastle I also aqcuired.
And tomorrow? Sleeping in, high-tech sledding with my not-so-little...

Enjoy your time off! I was in Reykjavik last fall, and it was really wild. It rained the whole time I was there, right up until my plane was leaving, and the sun decided to shine. But I've heard that the winters there are pretty enjoyable. It has to be better than it's been here. Go sledding, and have fa great vacation!

Why I Would Rather Be A Painter
For one thing
instead of just sitting it a straight back chair
hunched over a ring of lamplight,
I would be standing on a drop cloth
surrounded by open cans of paint,
every one a well of color.
Instead of spending the morning on a corner,
I would pace back and forth
under a skylight with gliding clouds....

I hear it's suppose to warm up to a balmy 20+ degrees after the weekend..woohoo!

love the new photo look - even things that brush just past sandman are cool! my little sandman empire grew this week - whist buying texts i found that my bookstore sells them. not the proper use of funds, perhaps, but happy nonetheless.
and speaking of happy - HAPPY POEM DAY!! this is wonderful. i can sotra visualize it from the references. its kind of a word painting actually - great imagery. and the teeth, to match the picture on the left. just brilliant. hope to read more of yr work here!

I started the process of pillaging my new library's CD collection... I have some issues with the limit of how many one can check out at a time (three...*blech*) but, I sure have no problem with what they stock! My first day's take after a back and forth trip was: The Essential Fripp & Eno, Ray Charles - The Birth of Soul, Tom Waits -...

I forgot to mention that I played guitar the other day! I flew through some exercises happy to see that my digits remembered what to do and where to go. *whew* Part of the fingertip still has a blisterish section of non-calloused baby skin...really sensitive to grating metal strings!
It seems as if I'll be able to begin practice again within the next week or...

tx for the response - i totally get it. i'll have to borrow the secret-handshake-asspat motif.
yay that you remember your guitarful goodness! that is so rad! think how much fun you will have building those callouses again. strange thought - would applying the liquid skin type bandage before playing even out the finger pain? hmmm, it would delay callousing though. anyWAY.
yr new neighbors will probably love the melodic sounds. oooooh ahhhhh. at any rate, you will learn quickly whether or not they are the groovy type.
yr new ink is fanTAStic!! so vibrant - really love that red. excellent work!!
hope yr wellish.

Got to take my not so li'l brother to the local animal shelter to put dibs on a greyhound that just came in. My mom hatched a plan to adopt one a few months ago & has been waiting by the phone for news on an arrival date for a new crop. We took a couple out for a walk around the complex, noted body...

I think I made a fine choice tonight... Rather than attend that high school reunion which I mentioned some time past (*cough_cocksuckers_cough*), I racked up some easy overtime at work. Every Friday night the residents of my group home go out on the town for pizza & bowling - I was grandmarshall of that parade.
Pizza is a tame affair but knocking pins is something...

LOL....Grand Marshall.......Jeebus.......cant stop laughing from the mental images......ball retriever exhaust....... Dude, you have my life and I want it back. Damn I am still giggling (I started this post 10 minutes ago)
Reunions are kind of strange (I loved high school) and I guess that I dont mind the catching up, I just find it disturbing how the people change. Some for the good, some for the worse. Its funny though, 15 year reunion and girls that (back in the day) wouldnt piss in my eye if my brain was on fire, suddenly wanted to be rescued from their hum-drum lives and found me to be attractive now. Go figure.
Pizza and Bowling sounds a hell of a lot more fun, so next reunion, can I dodge it and hang out with you and the gang......LOL.........ill buy.
Peace bro (with much respect and awe)

Whewie! What a party that must have been. Teehee! Much, much better than spending time with old high school peeps. I was either completely ignored or picked on mercilessly in high school, so I really don't care if I ever see any of those people again. Not even to gloat.
Thanks for the smiles and giggles. You are the bestest kind of cool.
PS~ How are you healing? All itchy yet?

oooh, this is cool! me likes. you know, i always thought the big bad wolf got a bad rap. he sounds much more frisky and fun in yr version. you just know he was a sexymf.
as for tv, i have taken your suggestion indeed. i am off the tube! uch, i feel so much better. i can look in the paper to see if anything worth watching is on, but this will prevent me from languishing in front of the mass media detritis. i did recently see a v. cool special on the guy who created the twilight zone, so that was worth watching. the rest? mind numbing garbage.
so how goes the unpacking?

And though you're probably done listening to Mr. Cohen and Mr. Eldritch by the time this arrives, those were some fine musical selections as well.
Insomnia: The story kept me up, unfortunately, and I had to read on. I think my racoons must be auditioning for roles in a remake of that movie...I remember when that came out!
