So, no KMFDM. Jed will've gone to the back bar area looking for some other site members, only to find none of our usual faces. DarkRabbit ruined Christmas by mixing up the day of the concert. He's now well aware of the fact that it's tonight, not last night.
The good news was our getting together wasn't put to waste. Mr. Rabbit, myself and the picked-up GrumpyBear met ElmCityDrunk at his place. We tranferred our party to Bar, closed them out and spent the wee hours back at ECD's. Unprivy to bedroom hanging out, I ransacked ECD's computer to an unharvested crop of spyware. Sadly, no cameras were about to share the joy of Bar's bathroom, including all the plastered nekkid folk.
Today AlienPrincess and myself bumped into Cass & Christian, formerly of Studio Zee. They left that shop approx. a month ago. Today they celebrated the trip to city hall and the formation of their new shop, Lovecraft Tattoo. The shop space lands them in prime Whalley Ave. location in Amity. I'm in dire need of getting some new ink as well as helping them get capital through the door.
AP & I also paid visit to the greyed AmazonRed13... She's been prepping her new condo off of Quinnipiac Ave. in New Haven. Holes are in the kitchen floor, swatches of paint applied to walls, closet doors removed, stacked in the hallway and she with a grin from ear to ear. In the 5+ years she and I have been thick as thieves, AR13 has been in dire need of finding somewhere dig in and call home. Happily, she can apply chrome hardware and paint walls grey or black as she chooses.
There was also very compelling talk of what to do when our lease runs out in May. Sweaty palmed phone calls will most likely follow this curious plan in days to come.
Tomorrow work in the first time since Friday... I have to have a few huddles w/ group home management and shuffle a growing pile of paperwork. I also have to meet with a particular staff person on guidance in my approaching support of a resident who moves for the local Parks & Rec. Dept. SGCT, suds and CD swapping at ElmCityDrunk's tomorrow night. It will be an early night, thankfully. Today I've ached at the need to catch up on sleep lost in weeks past.
In my fallen observance of this site's Poetry Day, here's an oldy but a goody...
Climbing
I climb your eyebrows, deliver sighs
to your arms, dig pylon fingers in your flesh
spread my body so close my cells dont know
whose blood to breathe.
Yes, near enough to press into you
as if mathematics depended upon
how I anchor my left foot on your left calf,
squash against, pull and lift myself up,
jam my right foot to your right knee,
ascending. I replace my carabiners,
tuck my stomach to your torso,
reach a hand for purchase,
to find your hand waiting
at the end of your outstretched arm,
every muscle knowing its match
and balance so precisely, only words
can slip between us.
