I am happily with little to report... A couple of brief meetings on my day off with a day of notice of my required attendance. Could be worse, I've received 15 minutes notice before and I live 20 minutes away. whatever Well that's why they pay me the big bucks, right? surreal

A brief doctors appointment with lots of involved nodding. That's far more welcoming than lots...

Random quiet evening at home for me tonight... Quiet in the sense of having no outside plans, not in the sense of up to no good. Today's secret word turns out to be cooking. I was inspired to follow a recipe for hot chocolate mix. I've yet to try it but, I'm sure that's due to change before this update is done. biggrin

I've also used...

I made a big fancy cocktail party menu on Satruday which was fun. Beef tenderloin sandwiches on baguettes with 3 different flavored butters, blue cheese, roasted garlic, and horseradish. Plus a really amazing dish with smoked salmon, served on shallot toasts with a sour cream, dill and dijon sauce.

I love well cooked fish, it's such a delight to have it served in such a way that the flavor of the fish comes through.

The whitefish sounds good. I'll have the same, but with extra Old Bay, please. oink

So it's 2:49 in the morning and I'm up this late trying to figure the hell's up with my iPod... For the past few weeks it's been a bit on the wonky side. With that in mind I've been trying to look for a way to successfully backup not so much the songs on the Pod but the playlists. In my last system loss, I'd...

Belated New Year's wishes to you, my five bored readers... Hope your weekend was spent well, however your measure. I attended HonkeyKong's gig at the Frog Pond in Stratford. All in good SGCT fun - Drunken second set and stage shoutings, snogging chicks in my car trunk, slurred smiles and belly laughter. Sadly, I dropped the ball in bringing no camera. frown Seeing how this...

I'm starting to feel much better... I can miss taking Tylenol without the feeling my tempurature spike violently. I've run out of Claritin-D but depending how I feel later, I can always go retail foraging for it. Most of all, it felt nice for once to be able to cash in sick time. I have enough back logged that if I ever need vast amounts...

Oh! frown I am sick, I am sore, I am achy and coughing. I am bundled, I am typing w/ pins and needles. I am drinking lots of tea, I am drugged and vitamin'd up. I am, however, visiting with DarkRabbit who seems interested in hanging out at Flux w/ SGCT on Wednesday. Perhaps more from the wireless connection under the electric blanket. wink

Hooray! I'm out of work for my equivilent of my weekend! Nothing but performing the lay around the house tasks that I've been hearing about from others. They all return to work tomorrow in three inches of fresh snow. Me? I'm sleeping late, drinking coffee, watching borrowed movies and gloating. tongue biggrin

omg, ROTFLMAO. i hate to use such a cumbersome acronym, but i love the idea of a flowers, AP, and you with a big, velveeta grin and a bow tie (for some reason this seemed to fit) comin' to meet my family. hahaha. that is awesome.

the nicknames for my brother are ENDLESS. my favorite is baby chrismouse (play on xmas, natch) for my 6ft5in 290lb brother (and that is muscle and bone), and dawid snawid for my other one, who is about as cutesy oriented as the plague. generally i am calling the snawid that while trying to poke him in the ear, which makes him crazy. i have no nicknames for my sister, other than evil, because she spent her life calling me such charming things as "lard ball" , "fateo", and "uggo". hmmmm, could that have contributed to my weight complex?

penance is good for the soul. i am a big fan of aesectism myself ... of course, i enjoy it, so is that penance? hmmmmmm.

Christmas Eve catch-up... Worked a double today w/ a side of holiday pay tomorrow. Drove one of my residents to his folks place in Rhode Island. Assembled an Ikea gift to another resident. Overall a pretty quiet Friday.

So Xmas. surreal I've never really enjoyed the holiday. It's been a holiday that has always reminded of St. Valentine's Day. The true sentiment of the holiday is...

Lazy day... Slept late. Caught up on bill paying prior to loosing the rest of my paycheck to the holiday and its toll. Called SBC about checking in on some wonky DSL speeds.

AlienPrincess and I ended up eating dinner over at my parents' place in Woodbridge. We'd brought over the extended edition of LOTR: Return of the King and they joined in on watching....

Well, my eye-crossing hangover has faded away nicely... blackeyed Friends, beware combinations of pseudo-strong sangria, lots of beer, copious amounts of little green trees and frightfully little water. ElmCityDrunk held an amazing Xmas party. I think the absense of the regular Wednesday night soiree caused everyone to come in full-force, dressed to the nine's and looking to wreck amusing havoc. biggrin I usually abhor the holidays, whether...

Updating while waiting for water to boil in the other room... It's been a night of busy bee activity. With an AlienPrincess at work, I've been amusing myself by cooking up a small storm. Dinner was Braised Chicken w/ a citrus reduction. I bought a monstrous bag of dried shitake mushrooms last week so I put them to good use by incorporating them in the...

Mortgage brokers eh. Good luck.
I actually had very good success with mine.
Pomegranate Sangria, wow that sounds good, I am not a big Sangria fan as it usually winds up to sweet but pomegranate should bring a tartness to the mix that even I might like
gumbercules:
I'm so jealous that you live so close to the Pooplis and Faarfalgs. Boston is so undercivilized.

Today I'm finally picking up book 3 of the Neal Stephenson trilogy, courtesy of an early xmas gift certificate from a local sci-fi bookstore. They have one first edition hardcover left, and it shall be mine.

Enjoy the party tonight. I have a feeling that the pomegranate sangria will be a smash hit.

Big love to you and the Princess!
