WARNING: IM GOING TO VENT A BIT
Alright so ive been watching all the stuff on the news about the hurricane, its awful. it really gets to me, my heart goes out to all those poor people. just sitting at home feeling like im not able to do anything really sucks. i guess ive always been that way, wanting to do something but feeling like i cant so nothing gets done. so i was at work just thinking and i decided to do something. so im starting a fund at work, i asked my boss for help and to send emails to everyone there asking for help. so it looks like were getting the ball rolling. it may not be a whole lot but for people that have nothing right now. anything will do. so i hope people really pitch in at work. we've been doing a shitload of overtime so that should kind of make things easier for people. but ill be giving all the money to redcross..so if you guys know me and want to help out get a hold of me or just get in contact with the red cross.. if i could put everything on hold here at home and work i would. and id head over there to help in anyway i could, but since i cant i hope this will help.
onto something that is truely pissing me off. These FUCKING IDIOTS that are going around raping women,beating people, killing each other and looting and by looting i mean stealing things that are not needed for survival.. how much is a fucking 40 inch tv going to help you and your family.. i know people are scared and desperate (i can only imagine what people are feeling) but come on now this is the time when you step up as a HUMAN! we as people are in this together. just imagine going through something like this, losing EVERYTHING, love ones,friends, your home your life basicly and then you or some you love gets raped! when i read that in the paper today it fucking SICKENED me..it just makes me mad to hear stories like that...alright im done...sorry guys i just needed to vent..

New Orleans is bringing out the best and unfortunately the worst of american society. It is pitiful.
What I want to know is if there is an emergency plan drawn up for this sort of thing. There should be. In the UK the local authorities assesses what disasters could conceivably happen to their region and draw up an emergency plan for it. I would assume what happened in New Orleans was conceivable thus there should be an emergency plan for it. But there doesn't appear to be one. Which is disgraceful.
