Oy... what a week.
The world of corporate schmoozing is such a pathetic one. Was dragged out this week to 'network' with a bunch of researchers from an accountancy firm. What used to be Librarianship is now dragged under some asswank term called 'knowledge management', and lots of corporate firms are buying into this crap and hiring KM consultants for large amounts of money. Naturally, us librarians still get shit pay - this being because it's traditionally a female-dominated sector and sexist policies are still rife.
Seeing a therapist in Harley Street for over a year now, and really beginning to lose hope of making any progress. Of course, it doesn't help any if my therapists sits in her chair and looks more interested in scraping crud from under her nails than talking to me. Hey, you're only charging me 40 a hour woman! Sheesh. Came out of the last sesh ready to moonwalk into the traffic.
Still, met Emmy today and watched TequilaRayMax's band in Camden. It was excellent stuff - a good clean set and good acoustics for a gig pub. Emma's a total sweetheart and getting a hug off her may be the highlight of my year.
