Driving in and around London is no fun. In Ireland I can drive 30 miles in about 30 minutes or less. To travel from South East London to Slough on a workday means I have to be up before 6am and in the car by 6.30am to get there by 8am.
Getting back was worse as up until 3 miles from home the journey took an hour. The final 3 miles took almost 2 hours inching along in single stream traffic due to the amount of bus lanes that have been installed and traffic light sequences that favour pedestrians and buses.
