Awesome. Jack Skellington in Three Dimensional Ace-O-Vision. Or "The Nightmare Before Christmas 3D" as marketing type people have called it. I like my title better. Whichever moniker your local cinema has on its weekly schedule I highly recommend it. The 3D effect hasn't been employed as a gimmick but rather to add depth to the visuals. Most 3D films (I'm looking at you Friday 13th 3D and Jaws 3D, did you know Jaws 3 was original gonna be a spoof called "Jaws 3 People 0") use the process only to have things shoot out of the screen, NBC3D reverses this idea. It looks like you could put your hand into the screen, kinda like in "Last Action Hero" but with 3D glasses instead of magic tickets.
The only bad thing about this is that now my DVD copy is a bit shit.
Nearly forget, the Pixar short "Knick Knack" plays before the feature. Its the one with the snowman in the snow globe, and is better than nearly every film released ever. I saw Cars earlier this week, I am kicking myself for not viewing that one by the magic lantern. I wish John Lasseter had a cofession box "Forgive me Pixar for I have sinned. I believed the words of heretical film critics and doubted the mighty Lord Pixar. I am so sorry" Then Buzz Lightyear would turn up to absolve me and everything would be alright.
I have another day off work tomorrow. At some point I will be going to tell my grandparents about the short film thing that i am doing. Man I cant wait to go do that. January 9 th is too far away. Then I might go and laugh at people i know who are working. Its the simple and petty things that keep me happy.
Anyway, back to listening to the Bill and Ted soundtrack.
