I still maintain that it wasnt that bad, because I'm a fanboy who is easily placated by Venom screaming. Although it did occur to me that section on the news was fucking shite, churning out exposition for what sounded like an awesome scene - but instead what we saw was 2 people whinging and trying to amp up the drama.
