I attempted it once, but found it to be so incredibly boring and overwrought that I couldn't finish it.

I think it's one of those books that people either really love or really hate. I was put off by the whole self-consciousness of it all, having read a lot of similar styled books in college.

But hey, a lot of people love that kind of stuff.
