went to see Takka Takka, Architecture in Helsinki and Clap Your Hands Say Yeah on Friday at the Gothic. TT I had never heard and thought was pretty good. AIH was fucking amazing! Much better live, energetic and captivating. CYHSY was decent, but a lot of the songs sounded the same. Plus, I was tired at this point. Mind you, it was only like 11:30ish, I was beat down from Friday's events and Thursday's bowling night.

Which by the way, was a good and bad night. Bad because they changed the prices; we used bowl for $2 a game and $1 for shoes. Totaling $7. Thursday, we had to pay $15.50. and still pay for a couple cold ones. and they're non-smoking too, which pissed my friends off too. (i don't care all that much b/c i "quit"--ie, smoke occasionally when i drink, which has equated to about 5 cigs in the last month.

Saturday, J-bones cooked awesome shrimp omelettes and we got FREE tix for the Denver Art Museum grand opening of the new wing for Sunday. the contemporary part wasn't all that enticing, but the architecture was pretty amazing. minus all the whiteness!! i stood behind a handful of people gawking at a Monet there and said, "Oh, Mon-it...." and like 3 people's head snapped so hard towards me, i thought they would have whiplash. then an older lady corrected me on it. i just laughed. it was pretty hilarious.

after visiting the Chicago Art Museum, most places pale in comparison. I heard the Museum in DC is supposed to be pretty cool. I've always visit DC too, and i have friends there too. which makes me really lame, right?

this Saturday is my best friend's wedding reception!!! should be most excellent. a bunch of dank beer and friends from WI will be visiting. they come on Friday and are staying till monday. i should be able to get a couple pics from the event.

now i'm debating between buying a new album (it's been a while) and saving some money for this coming weekend. any suggestions???

I did not see them. I was doing voter registration at the door, so I just vaguely heard them. Amy really dug AIH.

St. Louis is a great place to visit. There are a ton of free things to do and food is cheaper than here. Not to mention they have a TON more great places to eat! That's where I grew up so I always have a free place to stay (though, it is family after all).

The Art Museum, Zoo, Science Museum, and History Museum are all free. The St. Louis Zoo is one of the top 5 (could be #3, I can't remember) in the nation. There is also a bunch of great Italian places to eat nearby that area and Ted Drewes Frozen Custard is amazing (it's been featured on the Food Channel on a number of occasions in a number of different shows).

I definitely miss the food there (if you couldn't tell) and miss how close to Chicago it is. But I wouldn't give up living here for it. My allergies are much better here.

I really wanted to do the road trip this summer through KC, to St. Louis, and then a visit to Chicago but gas prices were through the roof. There are still a ton of road trips I want to go on though (New Mexico, Arizona, Portland, San Fran, Seattle, Texas, etc).

Now, if I had an unlimited supply of money and time off....
