So I finally got enough money together to get my car tire fixed and towed to a shop that will repair the engine. 65 bones for the tire 48bones for the tow. Not too shabby. The good new is that my engine is belt driven (not chain driven like the moron at BelleTire said) making the repair a big job but no where near as big as if it were a chain. So the damage for the whole kit and caboodle of valve gasket, timing belt and timing belt kit(bearings and whatnot) is 678 n change. This is a very happy thing since at one point the car guy was like "If its a timing chain thats a big job and could run up to 1500 dollars". Yeah, I can handle 700 to have my car back. I am freakin jonesing. I can't take this being couped up in my house thing without the freedom to drive wherever the hell I want. I have to try and bum rides to a club if I want to go dancing (and you know that vodka and dancing in a crowded smoke filled area must occur on a regular basis or I spontaneously cumbust!!) If Detroit had any decent form of public transportation this whole situation would be much easier. The bus system sucks and is always late if it shows up at all. No subways and the above ground "people mover" is a fuckin 3 block circuit joke downtown. Don't mention cabs cause they are an arm and a leg in these here parts.
