So I went out to eat with my Mother and Father last night. It was my Mothers howeverold she is birthday (she stopped telling me how old she was after 36 and extensively brainwashed me to forget how old she really is ) Looking at my father who is turning 50 this year I began to realize how old he is starting to look. When I picture my father in my mind I see the 30 year old man who kicked the shit out of 2- 20something drunks one night who were starting trouble out in front of our house. I see the man helping out with the school wrestling team working over the heavyweights cause our coach weighed too little to mess with them (instead it was us lighter weights who got to get kicked around by him). I see the guy who bikes everywhere because he actually "likes" to ride his bike even thou driving would be quicker. And then I remember that not one of my relatives has lived past the age of 65 due to cancer related deaths. Then I remember that I'm not getting any younger myself.....
It's funny how selfish we are as people. We start out thinking about the health and well-being of others and then it slowly comes back around to being all about us. Even when you think you could evolve above this. Even when you think that you could be the better person and not think about your own thoughts, and desires, and mortality, it never works out that way. We always fall back into the old patterns of self preservation. Looking out for number one. Hunt, gather, eat, procreate.

Fuck it....time for me to go cook a steak....I'm fuckin hungry
