Staff who'd have em!!! Over the last year I've built a very good,(now) stable team. Its taken alot of effort on my part. Not only am I writing line of Business applications for a 174year old city of London finacial institution that spans the globe (we make the G20 look like rank amatures when it comes to the global economy - and they are). I also have to manage the business expectations and I have to look after the staff and resourcing. The bulk of my team are contractor/consultant programmers and the 8 senior programmers I hav now are top notch... except one of them, who has been slowly going to peices over the last year.
I don't understand why, he's 35 single, earns a shitload of cash (much more than me, his boss) has nothing to be worried about. Yet, he's fucking up his job and his career seriously. He's fat ugly and gone to seed. To look at him you'd think he was a 60 year old Perl programmer. He drinks far too much. He once told me what his monthly order from the supermarket was, he was annoyed because they'd only delivered half. 6ltrs vodka. four cases wine, 20x24 cans stella on and on and on including the 4 bottles of sherry (for Sunday).
So far this year he's had 39 sick days and 14 holiday days. Now his justification is that as he gets paid a day rate, if he doesn't turn up so what he gets no money. But its not about that its about the trust and reliance that the company gets. and now he's fucked it. Aledegly he has swine flu, he did an onlne test to see if he had it, decided he had and just fucked off. The company's senior market analyst, who not unsurprisingly has the ear of the CEO is fuming and seriously fucked off (as I am as well) as I found out he hasn't doen the work for the Analist's team.
What is wrong with the fella, OK I recognise he has serious social skill problems, but please leave them at home. He hasn't had a girlfriend ever, I'm not even sure if he's ever had sex with anyone other than himself. He would go fucking nuts if he ever found out there were nacked pics of my wife here. He'd wank himself into oblivion. he did have a look up my wife skirt one day in a not so subtle way. She was waering this small purple see though g-string. I know cos he went on about it so fucking much to our work collegues.
He's one of those men who thinks he's a gentleman (the only one left), he can't understand (again said to our collegues - my staff) how a thug like me has ever pulled. Maybe its because I'm not a creep, maybe its because when I pay a compliment its a genuine one not a smarmy one. maybe its because I actually am manly and not a creeper how goes **cuddles** and **hugs** on line all the time and thinks the way to a girls heart is to smother her. He's got my wife on a pedestal he can't reconsile the look up the skirt with the gentlemanly behaviour... Oh! fuck off man... stop watcing the porn and get a life.
Anyway I now have to sack him... my director is now seriously fucked off that he's taken another sicky and has shafted someone yet again in the business. I've known this guy a long time and have tried to shield him from problems tried to resolve them given him interesting work... and this is how he repays me. the cunt thinks that he's do much better as a perm rather than a consultant will he fuck...
