Awesome weekend of awesomeness.
Friday saw the arrival of Hamish, we drank beer, watched some movies and went down the pub for a couple before closing.
Saturday saw the arrival of Neil and heading out for our first practise in about a month and a half. We spent most of the time finishing off a song we'd started at the last practise. We got it pretty much nailed, so in an act of supreme hubris, we decided to air it that night.
After food, went down to the venue and got the banter with the boys from Narcosis. It's been 18 months since we last played with them, but it was great to see them again. They're still some of the most mental, funny and friendly guys I've ever been privileged to meet.
Gig itself started alright. Most of the bands on the bill weren't to my personal taste, and the amount of myspazzers showing up convinced me that we'd go down like a lead ballon. Suprisingly, we didn't. Given the amount of alcohol I'd consumed by that point, I'm surprised there was only one noticecable fuck-up, and folks seemed to be pretty into us.
Afterwards, I wandered the crowd chatting to folks until Narcosis came on, at which point I proceeded to go mental down the front in my own inimitable fashion. They were unbe-fucking-lievable!
Anyway, afterwards there was an abortive visit to a Nightclub which was so bad it actually made me miss The Mission. Then to bed to await the inevitable bastard behind the eyes.
Spent today on the couch nursing my hangover and watching Dodgeball and various episodes of Firefly.

heya! i did a search for UK members with keyword 'seven soldiers' which doesn't seem to feature on any of the resulting members' profiles other than mine, but i note some good morrison representation going on on your profile so i thought i'd comment on what a cool search result that is! have you read seven soldiers of victory at all?
